Dr. Tomicah Tillemann serves as Director of the Bretton Woods II initiative at New America. He and his team work with large, long-term asset holders to reduce exposure to risk and volatility through strategic investments in social impact and development. He previously served as the Secretary of State's Senior Advisor for Civil Society and Emerging Democracies, speechwriter to Secretary Clinton, and an advisor to Joe Biden and John Kerry on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Other experience includes work with the White House, World Bank, Reuters New Media, and five U.S. Senate and Congressional campaigns. Dr. Tillemann is a co-holder of four patents and numerous awards for innovation. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Yale University and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
