Stefan Schulz is the CEO and co-founder of Bitfury Surround. He has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 20 years, pioneering the development of rights and the use of technology for artists. Stefan started his career with Power99 FM in Philadelphia, before he joined Polygram as the Managing Director for Licensing and Merchandising. In 2001, Stefan became a founding member of Universal Mobile, a Vivendi business unit that went on to lead the mobile music market for many years. Under his leadership at Universal Music Digital in Central and Eastern Europe, his team developed innovative licensing models and reached various milestone deals with some of the largest digital players globally. For Vivendi, Stefan co-founded WATCHEVER, a leading SVOD service in Germany and France. In 2016, he joined forces with Simon Fuller to create the first global pop group, NOW UNITED, based entirely on social media and audience engagement. Most recently, he led the development of digital live entertainment rights for promoters, artists and music labels. Stefan has worked with internationally known artists such as Rammstein, Nelly Furtado, Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Snow Patrol, U2, Florence and the Machine, Gwen Stefani, Bon Jovi, Sting, and Andrea Bocelli.
