Specialist insurer Beazley and Lloyd’s coverholder Risk Cooperative have partnered with the Bitfury Group to build the first blockchain-based system for crisis insurance and risk management. The partners are working with the innovation team behind Emercoin, an emerging leader in decentralized, secure services for businesses.

Bitfury, the world’s leading full-service blockchain technology company, and BASIS ID, the largest provider of “know your customer” and anti-money laundering services in Asia, will collaborate to enhance BASIS ID’s customer ID verification with Crystal, a tool developed by Bitfury to identify and analyze activity on the Bitcoin Blockchain. The integration of Crystal will enhance BASIS ID’s solution by incorporating data from the Bitcoin Blockchain, which BASIS ID currently lacks.

Upbit, the largest digital asset trading platform in South Korea, has started listing Emercoin on its new public exchange, providing a major new platform for the cryptocurrency. Emercoin, an emerging leader in blockchain business services, has grown significantly over the past year. Last month, Emercoin announced it is working with Coca-Cola, the U.S. State Department and the Bitfury Group on a blockchain-based pilot project to combat forced labor in the supply chain. Emercoin also recently named renowned technology expert and Olympic gold medalist Eun Lee as a technical advisor and ambassador to Korea.

OKEx, which operates out of Hong Kong, is now the fifth largest exchange in the world by trading volume with more than $3 billion in trades. Emercoin recently received an investment from the Bitfury Group.
